Step 1 (out of 5) – Open Avast and Start the Registration
Start by opening your Avast user interface. You can do this in many ways:
- Find Avast icon on your desktop
- Find Avast program in your Start menu
- Find Avast icon in the Windows system tray (bottom-right corner). It is usually hidden, so you need to click on the top arrow
When Avast user interface is opened you can register by clicking on the ‘REGISTER‘ button at the top of the main window, ‘Register‘ link in the status area, or by going to settings (cogwheel icon in the top-right corner) » ‘Registration‘.

Alternatively you can also find the Avast icon in the Windows system tray (bottom-right corner), right-click on it and select ‘Registration information‘.

If you are getting closer to the expiration date, Avast may also prompt you with the registration pop-up.

Register and Get Your Free License Key (Activation Code) via the Official Website
Another way to register your Antivirus and get a free license key is via the form on the Avast official website. The form itself is very simple and you will need only your name and e-mail.
After you submit your registration details, your free license key will be sent to the e-mail you have provided. Then you need to follow the instructions in the e-mail and insert the attached license key (activation code) into your program.
